Objective: The energy balance in the solar corona is currently unknown and is important to understand solar activity. The answer to this question requires the solution of the MHD equations of conservation of mass, momentum, and energy. An important term in each of these equations is the velocity. In this project we are measuring the velocity at various temperatures along coronal loops. A sample image of intensity and velocity of a hot coronal line is attached.
